About Buildfolk

Buildfolk is a free platform for engineers, developers and coders in every field. It’s a place to show what you build, learn from other builders and turn your projects into opportunities.

Why we’re building it

Engineers, developers and coders build real things every day: apps and AI experiments, circuits and robots, machines and CAD models, bridges and buildings, data and research. But that work often stays hidden in a folder, a lab notebook or a repository nobody visits. Buildfolk gives every project a proper home, with a clear page, honest feedback from other builders and a portfolio you can share. It’s for students, self-taught builders and working professionals alike, in every field.

Free for everyone

Buildfolk is free for everyone. There are no paid plans, subscriptions or membership fees, and every feature for showcasing your work is free.

What you can do here

• Build your profile with your field, what you build, your skills, what you’re open to and up to five links.
• Showcase projects from any field with screenshots, the tools you used and links to your code, demo or documents.
• Get feedback from other members on your projects and ideas, and find people to collaborate with.
• See your project analytics: views, visitors and link clicks for each project.
• Take a break in the Buildfolk Arcade, with 40 small browser games.

Where we are today

Buildfolk is new. Shopping and the Windows app are still being built. We won’t show invented member numbers, fake reviews or made-up projects. Anything shown as an example is clearly labelled “Example project”.

Safety

Buildfolk is for people aged 13 and over. Members under 18 need a parent or guardian to agree before their account opens, and get extra protection: their links and About section are visible only to people they follow, and adults can’t start chats with them. See our Safety page. Links are allowed only in the Links list of a profile, and short links, chat-app links and payment links are blocked. You can report anything that feels wrong.
